Adam Borcz
Adam Borcz grew up in Davidsonville and Millersville, MD, and attended St. Mary’s elementary and junior high school. He then attended Calvert Hall High School in Baltimore, MD, where he excelled academically and in Lacrosse. While at Calvert Hall, Borcz earned 1st Team All-Metro, 1st Team All-MIAA, and 1st Team all County Honors, and was also elected Captain his senior year. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Peer Education Program, where he educated freshman on real life issues including peer pressure and underage drinking.
Adam graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Political Science. He was awarded the Silver Sword for Men – which is presented to the graduating senior who has contributed most to Naval Academy sports during their four years. He also garnered Second-Team All-America honors and First Team All - ECAC his senior year and Honorable Mention All-America and First Team All - ECAC honors his junior year. Adam was also recognized as the team’s Most Valuable Player, U.S. Naval Academy in 2001. As of this writing, Adam is 21st on the all-time scoring list at Navy and 7th all time in goals scored. He was inducted into the Naval Academy Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2002.
Following graduation, Adam completed the Navy’s Basic Scuba Diving Program in Panama City, FL. Following this 6 week course, Adam attended 15 months of Nuclear Power training in Charleston, SC, Ballston Spa, NY, and Groton, CT, before moving to Hawaii. Here, he served three years aboard the USS Pasadena (SSN 752), a Los Angeles Class Nuclear Submarine. He completed an 8-month Arabian Gulf Deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003 and completed a 6-month Western Pacific Deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. Aboard the USS Pasadena, he was designated as the Ship’s Assistant Engineer. During this assignment, he served as the principal assistant to the Engineer Officer, and was ultimately responsible for all Nuclear and non-Nuclear mechanical systems, the ship’s Engineering Training and Examination Program, and diving related systems on board.
He spent his last two years of active duty stationed at the Pentagon, assigned to the Director of Naval Intelligence, Special Programs, where he supported various intelligence and reconnaissance programs in conjunction with the Navy, National Command Authority, and other intelligence agencies.
Adam earned a Master’s of Science degree in Engineering Management from The Catholic University in 2007.
Adam was also fortunate enough to have also played in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) for three seasons. He was drafted in the 1st Round, 3rd pick overall, in the inaugural draft and season of the MLL in 2001 and played in 8 games with the Baltimore Bayhawks. Recently, he completed two seasons with the Long Island Lizards in 2006 and 2007.
He has completed several triathlons, half marathons and competes regularly in other running races and continues to train young lacrosse players individually and at various camps and clinics.
Currently, Adam is a Sales Executive, for the United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC) in Bethesda, MD. USEC is the United States’ sole source of Uranium Enrichment services. They provide nuclear fuel to power plants across three continents around the world.
Adam resides in Washington, DC.
